In collaboration with The Koppel Project, and with your help, we are creating a unique, site-specific, immersive theatre show at the beautiful and labyrinthine Old Central Saint Martins Building in Southampton Row. The show will be created and performed through a combination of online/remote and on site/in person methods over the next 8 months.
This is an Open Call to co-create and perform in the show.
We want to reach out to those who might not ordinarily get involved in theatre, and who might be undergoing longer periods of self-isolation as a result of the pandemic.
No previous experience in theatre is required!
Experience how rich, complex and beautiful narratives and scenes emerge from an accumulation of individual moments.
Our shows are co-created through devised theatre techniques and we invite a diverse and intergenerational group (18+) to get involved. This will be a shared creation and social activity, in unprecedented times of self-isolation and social-distancing.
During our programme you will:
Join a new, experimental platform for online collaboration.
We have set up an online platform for collaboration, tailoring our workshops to the new social distancing rules.
On signing up, you will be invited to join the platform, where we will share, discuss, and collaborate on ideas, narratives and scenes.
Every two weeks, Persona Collective will upload a short video, each time providing a new glimpse into the site that will host our final show.
Each video serves as a prompt, or provocation, designed to inspire a creative response or narrative from you, which could be in any audio and or/visual medium you see fit.
We encourage you to be spontaneous and trust your gut instincts. Express whichever images, sensations and recollections the video evokes in you personally.
There are no wrong answers.
This open call is aimed at the community local to Bloomsbury, Camden and the surrounding area, and those with a previous connection to the Old Central Saint Martins building.
To express your interest contact email@example.com with a short message about yourself and why you'd like to take part.
A one-off enrolment fee of £30* will cover the complete workshop series
In light of the economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic we are freezing our introductory fees and offering flexible payments later on in the process.
